Weekend at the Goodmansons

We ended our vacation with a weekend at our good friends, the Goodmanson's. Jon attended a seminar on dental implants, and Wilson and Shana hung out with Matt, Sarah, and their baby Lily. On Saturday night, lots of other friends came over for a mini-party. Erin and Gus gave Wilson a little Super Baby costumer which is so adorable. He also wore it last weekend to Brendan's birthday party.

Whidbey Island

Our second stop on the trip was to Whidbey Island where we spent one night in a cute little cabin with a wide-open view of the ocean. Jon and I cooked dinner while Wilson slept soundly. We took at walk on the beach the next day before leaving for Seattle.

Mt. Baker

On our vacation we spent 2 nights at a cabin near Mt. Baker. It was very cozy, nestled in the woods surrounding the North Cascades Mountain Range. The scenery was fantastic- Wilson's second Mt. experience (the first was a hike on Mt. Hood). He slept for 3 hours in the sling carried by his Dad while we hiked up 1000 feet. His sleep cooing would synchronize with every step Jon took. He would murmur while Jon was walking and then pause when Jon's movement ceased.

Here is the entire slideshow of Scott and Miranda's visit. Our cousin Sara and her boyfriend Greg came up to Portland to visit from Eugene also.

Grandma died Saturday the 13th of October. We were on a plane on Sunday morning and stayed until Thursday. The fun part of leaving North Dakota was that Scott and Miranda had been planning on visiting us in Portland that weekend. So we left Thursday afternoon, and Scott and Miranda arrived Thursday night into Portland.

We had a great weekend together. Since we had a baby at home it seemed OK to sit on the couch for 4 days and eat Halloween candy, while playing with Wilson of course.

Here are a few photos and the entire photo album. Great seeing you Scott and Miranda. We miss you!

A few photos from the slideshow below while we were in Grafton. Wilson made Grandma's funeral so much easier. Just great to have a new life around while we were mourning the end of another.

Hello All,

Sorry for the long hiatus. The Daby's in Portland have had a busy October. We returned to North Dakota to pay respects to Great Grandma Gorder. She was a strong, wonderful woman who left a legacy behind her. Wilson didn't get a chance to meet her, although we had a nice visit in June with her while Shana was pregnant so she knew he was on the way.

We have also been to Mount Baker, Whidbey Island, and Seattle. We are now back home and I will start posting some of the photos from our travels.
